To be considered, you must have a minimum of 2 yrs. of direct supervisory experience, in a warehouse, production, or equivalent environment. With a background of demonstrated mechanical, or operational aptitude of 2 or more years. And a valid driver’s license, with no restrictions.

Pay will reflect past work experience. Any payrate outside of the stated range is non-negotiable.

Job Title: Production Supervisor

Reports to: Production Manager

Job Summary: The Production Supervisor will have hands on responsibility for overseeing assigned operations of the business. They will ensure that materials and supplies are in a positive flow. As well as managing production technicians assigned to them. They will work closely with the production manager to plan, organize, direct, and run day-to-day operations to ensure that all labor, materials, and machinery are fully utilized. While evaluating those stations throughout the shift to ensure optimum efficiency. And drive efficient collaboration and coordination between relevant departments including sales, procurement, distribution, and management. As well as being assigned additional duties related to special projects, as needed.

Essential Functions:

Endeavors to always keep the business culture’s guiding principles intact.
Overseeing all daily operations of the plant from production and manufacturing to ensuring policies and procedures are followed.
Act as shift leader. Lead in the production manager’s absence.
Responsible for learning and maintaining a competent skill level on all machines assigned. To include forklift equipment and other ancillary production equipment i.e. slitter, coil mandrel, etc.
Actively facilitate cross training among the team.
This role will need to continuously ensure plant improvements while ensuring a quality product and timely delivery to customers.
Ensuring compliance with safety and professional standards within a facility. Assist in organizing training and educational manuals for production team
Responsibilities include screening, training, evaluation, coaching, and discipline of production employees to ensure goal attainment.
Maintain and ensure a routine preventative maintenance plan for all equipment

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Critical thinking skills and mechanical aptitude are a must.
Ability to obtain a DOT medical examiner’s card, pass-preemployment drug screening and background check.
Must have a valid driver’s license and clean MVR for 2+yrs, to operate a 1-ton truck
Class A CDL driver’s license a plus
Ability to read customer paperwork and understand instructions.
2+ years’ experience in production supervisory preferred.
Basic to intermediate knowledge in lean manufacturing practices
A proven track record of developing a skilled workforce
Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word. As well as other workflow and production order software.
Ability to create accountability and to lead by example
Strong team building, decision-making, and people management skills
Basic math skills with the ability to convert fractions to decimals.
Ability to lift to 80 pounds, stand, bend, twist, and stoop during shift.
Ability to concentrate while doing repetitive hand motions including gripping, grasping, pushing, and pulling.

Education: Technical trade certificate preferred

Physical Demands/Working Conditions: The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position for 50% or more of the time. This position will require eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficiently to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator, and other office equipment. The person in this position must always be aware of their surroundings and be able to quickly recognize and identify potentially dangerous situations that need addressed in the shop. While in the shop, company safety requirements must be closely followed.
