Job Description

Summary

We are seeking a CMM Programmer to develop, validate, and execute inspection programs across various CMM machines to ensure all fabricated products meet engineering and client specifications. This role plays a critical part in maintaining accuracy, traceability, and compliance throughout the inspection process.


The ideal candidate has strong background in interpreting technical drawings, developing and validating CMM inspection programs, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to uphold the highest quality standards.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, test, and validate CMM inspection programs, including simulation, first-article trials, repeatability studies, and independent verification.
  • Create detailed work instructions for inspection methods and procedures.
  • Inspect high-value, complex, and tight-tolerance parts accurately using both mechanical and computerized inspection tools.
  • Identify and apply alternative inspection techniques to verify measurement results.
  • Utilize statistical methods to analyze data and support continuous process improvement.
  • Generate formatted inspection reports for Engineering, CNC Programming, and Operations teams.
  • Interpret engineering drawings and CAD models using GD&T standards.
  • Support troubleshooting of stamping, tooling, and quality issues through dimensional analysis.
  • Maintain and calibrate measurement instruments in compliance with internal standards.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local quality and safety regulations.
  • Collaborate closely with Engineering, Tooling, and Production teams to resolve quality issues and optimize processes.


Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in quality inspection, including at least 2 years of hands-on CMM programming and operation.
  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) principles.
  • Proficient in interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and CAD models.
  • Skilled in using precision inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, etc.).
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 or related quality system standards.
  • Demonstrates professionalism, attention to detail, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple projects effectively.
