Job Title: Maintenance Tech

FLSA Status: Hourly

Department: Maintenance

Reports To: Plant Manager

Schedule: 2:45PM – 11:15PM Monday - Friday

Location: Waterville Plant

Basic Job Functions:

• Performs, as directed, all necessary maintenance of the facility, equipment and grounds, in a timely and cost efficient manner.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma/GED and 3+ years maintenance experience OR
• High school diploma/GED and 5+ years of experience in a related field OR
• High school diploma/GED and 2-year technical school & 3+ years’ experience
• Journeyman’s Card from an accredited apprenticeship program preferred

Required Skills/Competencies:

· Working knowledge of manufacturing and industrial prints and diagrams.

· Above average math and mechanical skills.

· Experience with Electrical ex. 480, 12v, etc.

· Familiarity and adherence to company work and safety rules and policies.

· Ability to lift 50 pounds or greater.

· Ability to positively interact management, supervisory personnel and coworkers.

· Ability to operate a lift truck (forklift) with training.

· Ability to solve problems and get the job done.

· Good housekeeping practices.

· Committed to continuous improvement.

Essential Responsibilities

· Repair, refurbish, production and support equipment to manufacturers specification (electromechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, PLC) as needed.

· Performs building maintenance (electrical, structural, plumbing, mechanical) as needed.

· Performs preventative maintenance on production and support equipment.

· Identifies, specifies and/or orders repair/replacement parts.

· Operate fabrication equipment including drill presses, saws, mills, common and specialized hand tools.

· Maintains maintenance records.

· Operates Arc welder.

· Support Production Manager and Supervisors as needed.

· Assist with process development as needed.

· Performs other duties as assigned by management.

US Physical Requirements:

• Will sit, stand, or walk short distances for up to the entire duration of a shift
• Will climb stairs on an occasional basis
• Will lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis
• Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects on a frequent basis
• Must be able to comply with all safety standards and procedures
• May reach above shoulder heights and below the waist on a frequent basis
• May stoop, kneel, or bend, on an occasional basis
• Ability to wear personal protective equipment is required (including but not limited to; steel toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, protective jacket or apron and arm guards)
