Employment Type: 5-Month Contract (800 hours) with strong potential for conversion
Employer: Healthcare Organization (via Medix Staffing)
Location: Fully Remote (Must reside in NY, NY or CT)
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Pay Rate: $31-$35/hour
Start Date: ASAP or with two weeks' notice

Important: This role is fully remote after a required one-time equipment pickup in Lower Manhattan on or before the first day of work. No exceptions.

Position Overview

Medix Staffing is seeking an experienced Healthcare Claims Analyst for a contract-to-hire opportunity with a well-established, mission-driven healthcare organization based in New York. This role offers competitive pay, full remote flexibility (post equipment pickup), and strong potential for long-term employment.

The Healthcare Claims Analyst will play a key role in claims analysis, auditing, reporting, and reimbursement accuracy across multiple provider types. The ideal candidate brings strong healthcare analytics experience, deep knowledge of Medicaid and Medicare guidelines, and advanced SQL and reporting skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze and audit healthcare claims including Hospital, Nursing Home, Physician, and DME claims

• Identify trends, gaps, and root causes in claims processing and reimbursement

• Develop reports, dashboards, and data visualizations using SQL, Excel, and Tableau

• Validate claims system coding and pricing to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance

• Interpret Medicaid and Medicare reimbursement methodologies from both financial and operational perspectives

• Collaborate with internal teams and third-party administrators (TPAs) to resolve claims issues

• Prepare narratives, summaries, and visual aids for leadership presentations

• Support quality assurance initiatives, policy development, and workflow improvements

• Ensure compliance with CMS guidelines and internal standards

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or related field

• 3-5+ years of experience in healthcare business intelligence, analytics, or claims analysis

• Experience auditing healthcare medical claims (Hospital, Nursing Home, Physician, DME, etc.)

• Strong knowledge of:

  • Medical terminology

  • ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS coding

  • CMS guidelines and EncoderPro

• Advanced technical skills in:

  • SQL (required)

  • MS Excel (advanced)

  • Tableau

  • Access

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to work independently with a high level of productivity

• Must reside in NY, NY or CT

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's Degree in a related analytical or technical field

• Health plan or managed care experience

• Experience creating executive-level dashboards and analytics

Equipment & Work Requirements

• IT equipment provided

• One-time equipment pickup required in Lower Manhattan

• Business casual dress code

• Fully remote after equipment pickup

IT Equipment Deposit

• $50 deducted from each of the first 10 paychecks ($500 total)

• Fully refundable upon conversion or at the end of the contract
