Controls Engineer

Location: 1st shift in Sheffield, IA

Salary: $90-130k DOE

Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Controls Engineer to design, develop, and implement control systems for industrial automation projects. The ideal candidate will leverage their expertise in PLC, HMI, and robotics to optimize system performance and improve operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop control systems for various industrial automation projects.
  • Program and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, and VFDs to ensure optimal performance.
  • Implement and maintain SCADA systems for real-time monitoring and control.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate controls with mechanical systems.
  • Conduct testing and validation of control systems to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for control systems, including CAD drawings and electrical schematics.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in industrial automation and control systems design.
  • Strong knowledge of PLC programming (Siemens, Allen Bradley) and HMI development.
  • Familiarity with VFDs, robotics, and SCADA systems.
  • Experience with AC/DC circuits and electrical control systems.
  • Proficient in design using CAD, AutoCAD, or SolidWorks for designing control layouts.
