Project Manager
Job Description:
The Project Manager acts as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC), leading the project from turnover through closeout. This central role requires expert facilitation of communication with all internal teams and external stakeholders. The PM is accountable for delivering the project successfully and profitably, ensuring adherence to the schedule and budget through aggressive management of resources, scope, and project risks.
Responsibilities:
- Staying in communication with the Superintendent/ Foreman daily regarding the operations of the plumbing construction department, including managing costumer expectations, field communication, and Field support
- Execute all project work strictly according to the agreed-upon plans, specifications, and documented exclusions established during pre-construction, while actively fostering and maintaining strong client relationships.
- Monitor job costs and profitability to maintain financial efficiency and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Implement processes and procedures that enhance compliance with all federal, state and local regulations.
Expectations:
- Availability: Be available on-site and to clients/teams during regular business hours (7:00 AM – 4:00 PM), with flexibility to work additional hours, including evenings or weekends, as required by project needs.
- SPOC: All project transactions, big or small, are the responsibility of the PM from turnover to close. Extreme ownership.
- Collaboration: Build and maintain strong working relationships with foremen, field staff, clients, and vendors, fostering teamwork, trust, and alignment with company goals.
- Organization: Balance multiple active projects simultaneously without compromising quality, safety, or deadlines. Maintain organized and detailed contracts, schedules, and project documentation.
- Project: Maintain a healthy level of expectations with other departments, while removing friction to make sure the project sticks on time and on budget until it closes out.
- Critical Path Scheduling: Work with Superintendents to ensure that long lead time material and other critical path bottlenecks are eliminated at project start.
- Performance Tracking: Monitor and track job performance against estimated costs to ensure profitability, addressing field issues promptly to minimize downtime, rework, and cost overruns.
- Change Orders & Proposals: Prepare accurate and detailed change orders and follow up on submitted proposals within agreed timelines to successfully close opportunities.
- Reporting: Work with Finance on regular reporting on sales activity, leads, project status, revenue performance, and market trends. Support company growth by identifying and implementing improvements in project management, project delivery, and client service.
- Technical Knowledge: Stay informed about new plumbing systems, codes, and service technologies to improve efficiency, compliance, and quality standards.
- Safety & Compliance: Promote a culture of safety and compliance by maintaining zero violations and minimizing workplace incidents.
- KPIs: Work with the manager to create and meet an acceptable level of achievement of PM KPIs.
