Job Title: Claims Specialist – Billing

Job Summary

The Claims Specialist – Billing is responsible for reviewing, validating, and resolving customer billing claims and disputes related to invoices, charges, credits, and adjustments. This role ensures billing accuracy, investigates discrepancies, and works closely with internal teams and customers to resolve issues in a timely and compliant manner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and analyze customer billing claims, disputes, and charge inquiries
  • Validate billing data against contracts, service agreements, pricing schedules, and usage records
  • Investigate billing discrepancies, overcharges, undercharges, and duplicate charges
  • Process billing adjustments, credits, rebills, and corrections in billing systems
  • Coordinate with finance, operations, sales, and customer service teams to resolve claims
  • Communicate claim status and resolutions to customers and internal stakeholders
  • Maintain accurate documentation of claims, investigations, and resolutions
  • Ensure compliance with company billing policies, contractual terms, and audit requirements
  • Identify recurring billing issues and recommend process improvements
  • Meet service-level agreements (SLAs) and resolution timelines

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred)
  • 2+ years of experience in billing operations, claims processing, or accounts receivable
  • Strong understanding of invoicing, billing cycles, and financial transactions
  • Experience working with ERP or billing systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, custom billing platforms)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other office productivity tools

  • Experience handling high-volume billing claims or dispute resolution
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and reconciliation skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple claims simultaneously
  • Familiarity with contract interpretation and pricing validation
