INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGNER/MEDIA DEVELOPER/508 REMEDIATOR

Job Purpose – What Is My Role in the Company?
ResolveSoft's team specializes in assisting government agencies and companies in implementing their most critical strategic initiatives. The Instructional Designer/Media Developer/508 Remediator is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering engaging multimedia content that meets 508 compliance standards across various platforms. This role combines technical skills with creative storytelling to produce high-quality digital assets, including videos, animations, graphics, interactive media, and e-learning modules.

Essential Functions – What Is Expected of Me in My Role

  • Design and develop multimedia content including video, audio, animation, and interactive elements.
  • Collaborate with instructional designers, curriculum team, and subject matter experts to translate concepts into engaging media.
  • Edit and produce video and audio content using tools like Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Audition, or similar tools.
  • Create motion graphics and animations to enhance storytelling and user engagement.
  • Develop interactive media using tools such as Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, or HTML5.
  • Ensure all media content aligns with brand guidelines and accessibility standards.
  • Manage media assets, file organization, and version control.
  • Stay current with emerging media technologies and trends.
  • Collaborate with the curriculum team to revise current training products and curriculum regularly to maintain accurate and current content.
  • Manage multiple deliverables and timelines to adhere to established quality standards and processes, like Section 508 compliance, style guide consistency, and other required review cycles.
  • Participate in call reviews, test calls, and other quality activities to ensure the effectiveness of training products.
  • Possess a strong knowledge of instructional design tools that include but are not limited to Microsoft Office Suite, Section 508 Accessibility Tools, SharePoint, and Articulate Storyline, Adobe Acrobat Reader, JAWS, and Snagit.
  • Conduct needs analysis, write instructional objectives, recommend varied instructional models, create learning solutions, and integrate measurement standards.
  • Evaluate and modify existing instructional materials to optimize the quality of the instructional design.
  • Provide feedback to leadership to help identify issues or improvement opportunities.
  • Provide clear, timely communication regarding issues, opportunities, barriers, and project risks to all levels and groups.
  • Attending team, curriculum, and client meetings as needed.
  • Occasionally lead curriculum projects, including driving leadership-level decisions and initiatives down to project teams.
  • Lead key projects and initiatives.
  • Select, modify, or create a design and development model appropriate for a given project.
  • Occasionally represent the Training team when presenting to the client (for example, presenting small segments of a formal presentation of curriculum redesign).
  • Function as a key contributor and leader on the team to achieve the overall goals of the training organization.
  • Actively seek opportunities to try new processes and tools.
  • Create visually engaging and practical designs for websites and mobile apps.
  • Enhance and polish designs from digital media and visual design.
  • Collaborate with UX product designers to ensure a seamless and enjoyable user experience across all platforms.
  • Develop and maintain a consistent visual identity across all platforms, adhering to design system guidelines.
  • Present and iterate on design concepts, incorporating feedback from stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
  • Utilize visual storytelling techniques to convey messages and evoke the desired emotions.

  • Ability to facilitate small group design meetings, focus groups, client meetings, and other initiative meetings.
  • Ability to give and receive actionable feedback positively at the product level, regardless of stress level.
  • Confidence and competence to drive key decisions related to products owned.
  • Ability to effectively identify limitations and barriers at the product level.

Qualifications – What the job requires:

  • Bachelor’s degree in media production, Digital Design, Communication, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of proven experience as a Visual Designer, with a strong portfolio that showcases design skills across various platforms, including web, mobile, and social media.
  • A portfolio of work must be submitted.
  • Candidates must be U.S. citizens.
  • Demonstrated expertise in typography, color theory, and visual hierarchy.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite and Figma.
  • Strong understanding of user-centered design principles.
  • Ability to balance creativity with practical considerations, delivering designs that are both aesthetically pleasing and user-friendly.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Familiarity with basic web development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).

  • The work environment is entirely remote.
  • This position requires working independently and as part of a team.
  • This position involves daily contact with others.
  • Consistent and dependable attendance is required, as determined by the Project Manager.
  • Frequent use of computers is necessary.
  • All standard office equipment must be used.
