Job Title: Client Manager

Reports To: Employee Benefits Operations Director

FLSA Status: Exempt


POSITION SUMMARY: The Client Manager at CCIG serves as the primary point of contact for assigned client accounts, building and maintaining strong relationships based on trust and proactive communication. This role involves understanding clients’ organizational goals and employee demographics to provide tailored benefits solutions, coordinating the implementation and management of benefit plans, and ensuring smooth enrollment processes. The Client Manager addresses client inquiries, resolves issues, and advocates on behalf of clients with insurance carriers and benefit providers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Demonstrate alignment with the company’s core values by being a collaborative team player, showing grit and perseverance, actively listening, effectively solving problems, and contributing to a positive and supportive work environment.
  • Act as the primary contact for assigned client accounts, building and maintaining strong, trust-based relationships through proactive communication.
  • Understand client goals and employee demographics to design and manage tailored employee benefits solutions.
  • Coordinate the implementation, enrollment, and ongoing management of employee benefit programs, ensuring smooth transitions and effective stakeholder communication.
  • Monitor and evaluate existing benefit programs, recommending adjustments or improvements based on utilization trends and client feedback.
  • Lead the renewal process, including analyzing proposals, negotiating terms, and advising on plan adjustments to align with client objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations (e.g., ERISA, ACA) and provide guidance on adherence to standards.
  • Advocate for clients with carriers and providers to resolve issues and optimize service delivery.
  • Develop and deliver clear, engaging communication materials and presentations for employee education and open enrollment processes.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to provide financial analysis, reports, and strategic recommendations tailored to client needs.
  • Identify opportunities to expand services, support business growth, and foster collaboration with Sales teams to acquire new clients.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members to support professional development and teamwork.
  • Additional duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Must hold Life & Health Insurance license or be willing to obtain one within an agreed upon timeframe.
  • Proactive participation in continuing education classes.
  • 2+ years of similar or related experience preferred
  • Self-driven with strong ability to manage individual responsibilities while contributing to team objectives and collaborative projects.
  • Strong ability to prioritize, manage, and negotiate multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
  • Proven ability to produce high-quality, accurate work with strong attention to detail and minimal errors.
  • Proficient in building and maintaining effective relationships with clients, coworkers, carriers, and vendors while thriving in a collaborative team setting.
  • Exceptional written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to provide clear guidance and information.
  • Advanced problem-solving and critical thinking skills, capable of handling complex tasks with both concrete and abstract variables.
  • Deep understanding of employee benefits industry trends, products, legislation, and technology, with a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Adobe products, with advanced skills in Excel, including formula creation, formatting, and template usage.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.

COMPENSATION INFORMATION:

  • Pay Range: $63,000 - $110,000 (dependent on experience and/or qualifications)
  • Total Compensation = Pay + Performance + Benefits

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: This position primarily operates in a professional office environment. The employee is regularly required to sit or stand for extended periods, use hands to operate a computer, keyboard and other office equipment. The role requires clear verbal and written communication, including use of the telephone, email, and other collaboration tools. Periodic standing, walking, and light lifting or carrying of materials (generally up to 10 pounds) may be required.
