Job Description
ABOUT THIS POSITION:
We are currently looking to hire a full-time Audio Editor with experience in the podcast space. This team member will work alongside the production team to help edit multiple shows per week with various talent/hosts. The office and studio are located in Austin, TX.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Works with the Managing Editor to coordinate weekly schedule of tasks
- The editor will have a weekly and daily list of assigned projects. They are responsible for managing the schedule, communicating with the managing show Producer, Managing Editor and completing edits in a timely manner.
- Responsible for editing select episodes
- Implement host, guest & producer notes provided
- Expected to output 10-15 shows per week depending on length, difficulty, and recording schedule
- Listening through full episode to ensure quality control
- Acts as Session Engineer for Austin based recordings with talent as needed
- Responsible for prepping the studio for recordings and offering amenities to guests and hosts
- Monitors recording throughout and acts as session engineer
- Immediately exports raw files to the appropriate folder once recording has finished
- Responsible for studio cleanliness and the room is reset between recordings
- Additional responsibilities as required
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Past podcast production experience is highly preferred
- Minimum of 1-2 years of full editing audio experience
- Strong technical ability and file management experience
- Experience with OMF and AAF files
- Must be well versed in Protools and the Avid suite
- Subject to test edit
- Must be comfortable with third party editing and transcription programs
- Must have experience working with talent and recording in studio
- Experience recording in studio (client facing)
- Strong understanding of signal-flow/troubleshooting
SOFTWARE SKILLS:
- Pro Tools (a must)
- Google E-mail / Docs / Calendar (a must)
- Microsoft Office or Gsuite
- Proficiency uploading to podcast hosting platform
