Job Title: High School Spanish Teacher (General Education)
Location: Washington, DC
Employment Type: Full-Time, School Year Contract
Schedule: ASAP – June 2026 (District Bell Schedule, ~40 hours/week)


Overview:

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Spanish Teacher to join our high school team in Washington, DC. This role offers the opportunity to teach Spanish I and II in a supportive, inclusive environment alongside a partner Spanish teacher who covers levels III and IV. The ideal candidate has strong classroom management skills, experience leading a high school language classroom, and a genuine enthusiasm for student success.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons for Spanish I and II aligned with district curriculum and standards.
  • Create a classroom environment that supports diverse learners, including those with 504 plans or general special education needs.
  • Use varied instructional methods to build students’ reading, writing, listening, and speaking proficiency in Spanish.
  • Assess student progress and adapt instruction to ensure success for all learners.
  • Collaborate with the partner Spanish teacher, support staff, and administration to maintain consistency and support across grade levels.
  • Participate in school meetings, professional development, and cultural enrichment activities.


Position Details:

  • Grade Levels: 9–12
  • Caseload: Typical classroom size; Spanish I & II courses
  • Classroom Type: General Education; inclusive environment (no SPED caseload)
  • Interview Method: Virtual


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Spanish, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Valid teaching certification/license for Washington, DC, or eligibility to obtain one.
  • Experience teaching or student teaching Spanish I and II at the high school level preferred.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • New graduates with demonstrated readiness and passion for classroom teaching will be considered.
