JOB SUMMARY:
Under the general direction of the Human Resources Director, the Receptionist is responsible for serving as the first point of contact for the Archuleta County Clerk, Assessor, and Treasurer's Offices. This position provides front-line customer service to the public and staff by greeting visitors, answering and directing telephone calls, and assisting with general clerical support. The Receptionist ensures a professional and welcoming environment while supporting the daily operations of the Assessor, Clerk, and Treasurer's offices.

Receives general supervision from the Human Resources Director.

Greet and assist visitors in person and by telephone; provide information or direct to the appropriate office.
Answer and route incoming calls promptly and professionally.
Perform general clerical duties including filing, scanning, copying, data entry, and mail distribution.
Maintain a clean and organized reception area.
Provide clerical support to the Assessor, Clerk, and Treasurer's offices as assigned.
Respond to inquiries from the public, stakeholders, and county staff in person, by phone, or electronically.
Handle confidential information with discretion and in accordance with county policies.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities may be qualifying.
Education - High school diploma or equivalent..
Experience: - At least one year of experience in a clerical, receptionist, or customer service role preferred.
Licenses and Certifications - Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid Colorado Driver's License
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge Of:
Standard office equipment including telephones, copiers, scanners, and computers.
Clerical and administrative procedures such as recordkeeping, filing, and data entry.
Microsoft Office 365 applications.
Ability to:
Communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Provide professional and courteous customer service to the public and staff.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other County employees, representatives of other agencies, and the community.
Handle multiple tasks and frequent interruptions.
Work cooperatively in a team environment, demonstrating patience, professionalism, and confidentiality.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to have the ability to move to and from various points within the office. Ability to lift and/or carry up to 10 pounds on a regular basis. Requires full range of peripheral vision to monitor multiple computer systems.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth deception and the ability to adjust focus. Requires full range of hearing to monitor multiple radio and telephone systems.
Ability to hear and conduct routine conversation, Ability to work with hands above shoulder height or arms extended at shoulder height. The employee is required to use hand to finger, handle, grasp or feel objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms.
Requires repetitive movements standard in office-related activities such as typing, and sitting and standing, talking in person and via telephone. This position is occasionally required to stoop, kneel or crouch.
Requires sufficient hearing and speech ability to communicate verbally in response to inquiries, complaints, and to speak to individuals or groups in an informational or instructional situation.
