Job Summary
The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse operations to ensure safety, accuracy, productivity, and service-level commitments are met. This role leads hourly associates, enforces SOPs, and acts as the first line of accountability on the floor while supporting operational standards and customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Floor Management
- Supervise day-to-day warehouse activities including receiving, putaway, picking, packing, shipping, returns, and transfers
- Ensure labor is properly allocated to meet daily volume and SLA requirements
- Monitor workflow and adjust staffing or priorities as needed
- Maintain clean, organized, and audit-ready warehouse conditions (5S standards)
People Leadership
- Lead, coach, and hold associates accountable to performance and compliance standards
- Assign daily tasks and provide clear direction to the team
- Conduct time and attendance oversight, including breaks and productivity
- Support onboarding, training, and cross-training of new and existing employees
- Address performance issues and escalate as needed
Compliance & Safety
- Enforce all safety policies, OSHA standards, and company procedures
- Ensure proper use of equipment (MHE, scanners, RF guns, etc.)
- Report incidents, near misses, and operational risks immediately
- Reinforce compliance with client-specific requirements
Inventory & Accuracy
- Ensure accurate receiving, counting, labeling, and documentation
- Support cycle counts, audits, and inventory investigations
- Identify and escalate shortages, damages, or discrepancies
- Ensure proper palletization, wrapping, and shipping standards
Communication & Reporting
- Communicate operational updates to management clearly and timely
- Act as a point of contact between associates and leadership
- Document issues, corrective actions, and daily operational notes
- Support customer and carrier interactions as needed
Qualifications Required
- 3+ years of warehouse or logistics experience
- 2+ year in a lead or supervisory role preferred
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations and 3PL environments
- Ability to lead teams in a fast-paced, high-volume setting
- Basic computer skills (WMS, email, spreadsheets)
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Preferred
- Experience with B2B and retail compliance (Target, Amazon, etc.)
- MHE certification (reach truck, cherry picker, forklift)
- Experience with KPIs, labor planning, and productivity tracking
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to work extended shifts, weekends, and peak periods as needed
