Job Description
The Production Supervisor oversees daily production operations across both production buildings in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for leading a team of production employees to ensure safety, product quality, efficiency, and adherence to company standards and regulatory requirements. The Supervisor is expected to model strong leadership, drive continuous improvement, and communicate effectively across departments to meet operational goals. This position requires availability to work Sundays as part of the regular schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate daily activities of production line employees to meet production schedules and targets.
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards (FDA, USDA, SQF, HACCP, GMPs) and company quality policies.
- Monitor employee performance, provide coaching, and conduct corrective actions when necessary.
- Drive a culture of safety by enforcing proper PPE use, safety practices, and responding to incidents or near-misses.
- Collaborate with QA, Maintenance, Sanitation, and Warehouse teams to support seamless production flow.
- Track and report production metrics such as yield, downtime, labor efficiency, and waste.
- Utilize KPIs such as OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) to measure performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Assist in the training and onboarding of new employees and cross-training existing staff.
- Lead pre-shift meetings, safety huddles, and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain accurate records for labor, production output, and inventory usage.
- Enforce company policies, standards of conduct, and attendance expectations.
- Identify and troubleshoot process issues and escalate as needed to management.
- Promote employee engagement and team morale while maintaining accountability.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of key performance indicators (KPIs), including OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness).
- Strong knowledge of HACCP and food safety requirements.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Solid business acumen with a basic understanding of P&L statements.
- Exceptional proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Basic comprehension of process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
- Business Central knowledge a plus
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate or Bachelor's degree in Business, Food Science, or related field preferred.
- 5+ years of supervisory experience in food manufacturing or a similar production environment.
- Must be able to manage operations across multiple buildings.
- Must be available to work Sundays and other flexible hours as needed (including holidays).
- Strong understanding of food safety regulations and good manufacturing practices.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
- Authorized to work in the U.S. (E-Verify required).
Work Environment:
- Cold, wet, and fast-paced and wet manufacturing environment.
- Temperature ranges between 38°ree;F and 45°ree;F.
- Exposure to noise, moving equipment, and cleaning chemicals.
- Standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 lbs. for extended periods.
Physical Requirements:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to see, hear, speak, walk, read, sit, twist, and bend
- The employee must frequently stand and walk.
- The employee may be required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
