Job Description
This role focuses on performing both MIG and TIG welding, with an emphasis on MIG welding, to support a variety of metal fabrication projects. You will primarily work with rolled steel, with occasional work on stainless steel and aluminum, and assist in general fabrication and machine operation when welding demand slows down.
Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality MIG welding on rolled steel components in a production environment.
- Carry out TIG welding tasks as needed on various metals, including minimal stainless steel and aluminum work.
- Interpret and follow work instructions and job requirements to complete welding and fabrication tasks accurately.
- Assist with metal fabrication activities when welding workload is reduced, contributing to overall shop productivity.
- Operate fabrication equipment such as punch presses and hydraulic presses in a safe and efficient manner.
- Support other areas of the shop as needed, demonstrating flexibility and a team-oriented mindset.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area by following housekeeping standards and shop procedures.
- Collaborate with coworkers on the manufacturing floor to complete jobs on time and to quality standards.
Essential Skills
- At least 6 months of hands-on welding experience, with a focus on MIG welding.
- Practical experience using MIG welding equipment in a production or fabrication setting.
- Basic TIG welding skills and the ability to perform TIG welding when required.
- Ability to work with rolled steel materials, with familiarity in handling stainless steel and aluminum.
- Willingness and ability to assist in other shop areas when welding work slows down.
- Comfort operating or learning to operate punch presses and hydraulic presses.
- Strong attention to cleanliness, organization, and safety in a shop environment.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team on a busy manufacturing floor.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Any experience in metal fabrication is a plus.
- Any experience with press brake or punch press equipment is a plus.
- Experience in a metal stamping or tube bending environment is beneficial.
- Demonstrated flexibility to move between welding, fabrication, and machine operation tasks.

Work Environment
The role is based in a family-owned metal stamping operation that is expanding into the tube bending industry. The facility consists of four connected buildings and offers a clean, organized, and well-maintained shop environment. Approximately 30–35 people work on the manufacturing floor, fostering a collaborative and team-oriented atmosphere. You will work with MIG and TIG welding equipment, rolled steel materials, and fabrication machinery such as punch presses and hydraulic presses. The environment emphasizes cleanliness, organization, and safe work practices, with employees working together as a cohesive unit.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Jordan, MN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
