An opportunity is available for a registered nurse with experience in progressive care units (PCU) to provide high-quality patient care in a cardiac-focused setting. This contract position involves working in a 28-bed PCU/Intermediate Cardiac Care Unit (IMCU) with complex cardiac patients, including those with STEMI, NSTEMI, and post-cardiothoracic surgery needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients requiring close monitoring in a PCU/IMCU environment
- Manage cardiac drips such as Milrinone, Dobutamine, and vasopressors
- Respond effectively to changes in patient conditions and participate in STEMI and cardiac post-op protocols
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Maintain accurate documentation and uphold patient safety standards
Qualifications/Desired Experience:
- Valid RN license with documented experience in a PCU or stepdown nursing environment
- Proficiency in caring for cardiac patients, including post-surgical care and management of cardiac medications
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Ability to work with a patient ratio of approximately 1:3-4
- Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills
