Our organization is on the lookout for a passionate Occupational Therapist Registered to become a vital part of our Healthcare & Medical Services team. This position involves working with senior residents in various living arrangements, including independent living, assisted living, and memory care.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate the functional abilities of older adults through comprehensive assessments, including physical, cognitive, and functional evaluations.
- Design tailored treatment plans that incorporate evidence-based therapeutic interventions aimed at enhancing independence, safety, and overall quality of life.
- Collaborate with nursing staff and other interdisciplinary team members to ensure cohesive care.
- Educate residents and their families on adaptive techniques, home exercise routines, and the proper use of assistive devices.
- Document all services provided in line with professional and regulatory standards.
- Participate in care conferences and contribute to the development of resident-centered goals that align with our mission of improving lives and building community.
- Maintain accurate treatment records and monitor resident progress, adjusting care plans as necessary to meet evolving needs.
- Ensure adherence to state and federal regulations.
- Mentor and support therapy assistants or aides as needed.
- Contribute to initiatives focused on fall prevention and overall wellness.
- Help create both group and individual programs that promote mobility, cognitive function, and resident engagement.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Valid Occupational Therapist Registered license.
- Experience working with older adults in various care settings.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
