Job DescriptionResource RN - Registered Nurse - PACU Overview:

The Resource RN in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) is responsible for delivering specialized nursing care to adult, geriatric, and pediatric patients who require recovery and monitoring following surgical procedures. This position entails assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care in accordance with established nursing standards and specific unit protocols. Applicants must possess a valid RN license, relevant certifications, and a minimum of one year of experience, ideally in critical care environments.

Location: Our facility in Oklahoma City

Shift: Full Time (40 hours/week)

Schedule: 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM

Role Summary:

Resource Nurses will apply theoretical knowledge to guide their clinical decisions, assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating tailored nursing care for adult, geriatric, and pediatric patients. Responsibilities will be carried out in alignment with our mission, values, and service standards.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Must be a graduate of an accredited registered nursing program.

  • Licensure: Responsible for obtaining and maintaining a current RN license in the state of employment or compact licensure, meeting all state board of nursing requirements.

  • Experience: At least 1 year of nursing experience, with a preference for critical care.

  • Certifications: Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association or completion of the course within 30 days of hire.

  • Additional certifications may be required based on the specific unit or position, including but not limited to: ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course), TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course), CPHON (Certified Pediatric/Hematology/Oncology Nurse), OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse), PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support), PEARS (Pediatric Assessment Recognition and Stabilization), S.T.A.B.L.E. (Sugar, Temperature, Airway, Blood Pressure, Lab Work, And Emotional Support), C-EFM (Fetal Monitor Certification), and other unit-specific certifications as necessary.

Physical Requirements:
• Ability to regularly push, pull, and/or lift up to 50 lbs.
• Prolonged standing and walking are required during each shift.
• Must be able to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to fulfill job responsibilities.
