Position Overview:

The Family Services Coordinator supports the FFC department in prioritizing all family centered practice and activities, recognizing that increased and normalized family time, effective co parenting with caregivers, and targeted classes and skill building workshops for parents contribute to enhancing the family bond and expediting permanency. This position works closely with Caseplanners and Parent Advocates to identify and resolve gaps in our service delivery and builds a shared understanding within the department of its value and necessity in foster care practice.

Position Qualifications:

Master’s in Social Work or equivalent field with experience in working with families, preferably in child welfare. Ability to build collaborative relationships with diverse stakeholders in the foster care field, including birth and foster families, youth, extended families, case planners and other social service professionals, along with an understanding of the intersection of foster care, child protection, racial oppression and other social justice issues. Strong communication skills and the ability use a variety of approaches in order to be effective with different audiences, including ability as a trainer, public speaker, advocate and mediator.
