Academic Specialists in OB/GYN and Hospitalist Roles
Our organization is actively seeking Board Certified or Board Eligible General Obstetrician-Gynecologists to enhance our dynamic and expanding team of academic professionals in Obstetrics and Gynecology. We are looking to fill positions for OB/GYN Academic Specialists, Outpatient OB/GYN Clinicians, and OB/GYN Hospitalist Faculty.
Qualifications
- MD or DO with eligibility for Texas medical licensure
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Obstetrics & Gynecology (Hospitalist roles require Board Certification)
- BLS certification
- Experience in the field of obstetrics and gynecology
- Board-eligible candidates are expected to achieve Board Certification within 12 months of employment
Academic Specialists in General OB/GYN
We are in search of enthusiastic and driven Generalists to bolster our growing clinical services. As our clinical volumes increase, we seek faculty members who are excited to develop alongside the department.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing inpatient and outpatient care in obstetrics and gynecology
- Educating medical students, residents, and fellows
- Engaging in the department’s research initiatives
- Participating in the Labor & Delivery call team (up to 3 overnight/weekend on-site calls per month)
Outpatient OB/GYN Clinician
As an outpatient clinical specialist in OB/GYN, you will manage a diverse outpatient practice that encompasses both routine and complex care. This includes primary and preventive women’s health services, routine and high-risk prenatal care, postpartum care, and intricate gynecologic care with access to in-office procedures. This role does not involve inpatient care, call duties, or weekend work. Both full-time and part-time opportunities are available. Our department benefits from a wide range of subspecialty services, including urogynecology, reproductive endocrinology, gynecologic oncology, and maternal-fetal medicine, allowing you to provide exceptional care without working in isolation. Our clinics are part of a comprehensive health system that offers integrated specialty care to address the diverse health needs of our patients.
OB/GYN Hospitalist
We are also looking for OB/GYN Hospitalists to support our University Hospital locations, including Palo Alto and the Main Campus.
Responsibilities
- Managing labor and delivery
- Consulting on inpatient and emergency department gynecologic cases
- Overseeing OB/GYN emergencies
- Handling gynecologic surgical procedures
- Participating in educational activities
Hospitalists typically work 14–15 shifts per month, usually 12 hours each; some 24-hour shifts may be scheduled based on departmental requirements. The expected initial delivery volume is around 1,000 annually at the Palo Alto location and 5,500 at the main University Hospital.
