This per diem position offers a unique opportunity for Licensed Practical Nurses committed to supporting the academic, behavioral, and social development of students in a school environment. Responsibilities:
- Deliver 1:1 or small group academic, behavioral, and social support under teacher supervision
- Assist students with daily routines, managing transitions, and encouraging classroom participation
- Implement and follow behavior support plans and Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Support students mobility, supervision, and personal care needs as required
- Help maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning atmosphere
Qualifications:
- Active LPN license in Alabama
- Minimum of 18 years of age
- Compliance with TB testing according to district policies
- Physical capability to stand, walk, and assist with lifting when necessary
- Current clearances or willingness to obtain required clearances prior to start
Preferred Experience:
- Background in school settings, special education, behavioral health, or child care
- Experience working with students who have special needs, autism, or behavioral challenges
- Certification or training in CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention), PMT (Preventive Measures Training), or RBT (Registered Behavior Technician) is a plus
- Demonstrates reliability, patience, and a team-oriented mindset
