Job Description

This role focuses on performing high-quality MIG weld repairs on metal parts that automated robotic welders miss during production. You will interpret blueprints, maintain strong production output, and ensure every part meets quality standards for use in large-scale warehouse and distribution center projects.

Responsibilities

• Perform MIG repair welds on parts that were missed or not fully completed by robotic welders.
• Read and interpret blueprints to understand weld locations, specifications, and quality requirements.
• Inspect parts before and after welding to ensure welds meet quality and structural standards.
• Keep up with established production numbers while maintaining consistent weld quality.
• Operate welding equipment safely and efficiently throughout the shift.
• Load parts into machines when needed to support the welding and production process.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with safety and housekeeping standards.
• Follow all safety guidelines, including proper use of personal protective equipment and safe handling of tools and materials.
• Communicate clearly with team members and supervisors about any issues affecting quality, safety, or production flow.
• Demonstrate reliable attendance and punctuality to support consistent production schedules.

Essential Skills

• Proven MIG welding experience with the ability to produce clean, structurally sound welds.
• Ability to pass a MIG weld test as part of the hiring process.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints accurately.
• Strong attention to detail to identify and correct missed or incomplete welds.
• Capability to maintain production pace while delivering high-quality work.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality with the ability to work assigned shifts.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with machine loading is a plus.
• Familiarity with working around robotic or automated welding equipment is beneficial.
• Comfort working in a fast-paced, production-oriented manufacturing environment.

Work Environment

This is a hands-on production welding environment supporting large warehouse and distribution center projects. Work is performed on-site in a manufacturing facility using MIG welding equipment, robotic welding systems, and related production machinery. Multiple fixed schedules are available: a first shift Monday through Thursday from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., a second shift Monday through Thursday from 5:00 p.m. to 3:30 a.m., a weekend day shift Friday through Sunday from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and a weekend night shift Friday through Sunday from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. The role requires standing for extended periods, working near machinery, and following all safety procedures and protective equipment requirements typical of a metal fabrication and welding environment.

This is a Contract position based out of Shelbyville, KY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.50 - $27.00/hr.
