Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Insurance Administrator to join our trucking company. This role is critical in managing all aspects of insurance coverage, claims, and compliance with USDOT regulations and safety standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial trucking insurance, regulatory compliance, and risk management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Insurance Management:

- Maintain and update all insurance policies including liability, cargo, physical damage, and workers’ compensation.
- Coordinate with insurance brokers and carriers to ensure adequate coverage and timely renewals.
- Process and track insurance claims, ensuring timely resolution and communication with all parties.
- Regulatory Compliance:

- Ensure compliance with USDOT, FMCSA, and state-specific transportation regulations.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for audits and inspections.
- Monitor and manage MCS-90, BOC-3, and other required filings.
- Safety & Risk Management:

- Collaborate with the Safety Department to monitor driver safety records and accident reports.
- Assist in developing and implementing safety policies and training programs.
- Analyze claims data to identify trends and recommend risk mitigation strategies.
- Administrative Duties:

- Maintain organized digital and physical records of insurance documents and compliance reports.
- Prepare reports for management on insurance costs, claims status, and compliance metrics.
- Support onboarding of new drivers with insurance and compliance documentation.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in insurance administration, preferably in the trucking or transportation industry.
- Strong knowledge of USDOT, FMCSA, and state transportation regulations.
- Familiarity with safety compliance programs and risk management practices.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and transportation management systems (TMS) is a plus.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Preferred Certifications:
- Certified Transportation Professional (CTP)
- Transportation Risk Specialist (TRS)
- OSHA or DOT Safety Training Certification
