We are currently seeking a reliable and motivated payroll coordinator to join our accounting team. This position focuses on payroll accounting and requires someone who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required (associate's degree in accounting or finance preferred).
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is a plus.
- At least 1 year of experience in an accounting role, with a focus on payroll preferred.
- Familiarity with accrual and GAAP-based accounting is a bonus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) is essential.
- Experience with accounting software, such as QuickBooks, is required.
- Previous experience processing payroll, particularly with a third- party processor like Paylocity, is highly valued.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and balance multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
- A self-motivated team player who enjoys building relationships and working collaboratively.
- Strong organizational skills and comfort working under deadlines.
- Reliable transportation and the ability to work in-office.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong interpersonal and telephone skills.
- Commitment to providing exceptional customer service to both internal and external partners.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines with minimal supervision while staying calm under pressure.
Summary of Duties:
- Assist with payroll processing, ensuring accurate and timely handling of employee
- Prepare payroll invoices and handle payroll-related transactions in QuickBooks.
- Assist in the aquaracy and preparation of payroll within the Paylocity software, submission.
- Support the Payroll Manager in maintaining compliance with payroll procedures and company policies.
- Payroll & New Hire Reactivation Responsibilities:
Collect & Verify Timesheets
- Collect approved timesheets electronically submitted by clients
- Verify the accuracy of timesheets
- New Hire and Reactivation Processes
- Run payroll reports for the current week in the database
- Analyze DataSet to identify employees
- Verify employee identification
- Reactivations in Paylocity
Reactivations in Paylocity
- Reactivate rehired employees in the Paylocity system
- Update employee information as needed such as: Position Details: Ensure EEO class and Workers' Compensation codes are accurate.
- Work Location: Update work locations accordingly
- Banking Setup: Review and confirm direct deposit information.
- Complete Colorado Sick Leave information
- Coordinate and input onboarding for temporary employees in Paylocity.
Pre-Payroll Processing
- Run the Pre-Process Report for terminated employees who are being paid.
- Review the jobs for these employees to determine if reactivation in Paylocity is required.
- Onboarding & Notifications
- Notify the payroll staff when a timesheet cannot be processed due to incomplete onboarding.
