Senior Accountant - Part Time
Coeur d’Alene, ID
Part-time 15–25 hours per week (flex days)
In office role NOT remote
Wage: $28.00 – $34.00/hr
Position Summary
We are seeking a Senior Accountant to support a growing organization through its next phase of product launch and market expansion. Reporting directly to the VP of Finance, this role will be instrumental in shaping strategic direction, ensuring financial integrity, and supporting scalability.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and execute all aspects of accounting functions including general ledger, receivables, payables, payroll, and financial reporting.
- Run multi-state payroll for approximately 30 employees.
- Prepare and review company-wide monthly, quarterly, and annual budgets.
- Analyze financial results, including revenue, margins, expenses, cash flows, and budget-to-actual comparisons.
- Prepare and deliver regular financial and ad hoc reports to senior management and the board of directors.
- Manage cash flow and provide ongoing reporting to leadership.
- Develop, implement, and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and systems.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP standards.
- Perform job costing in compliance with Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) requirements.
- Support federal, state, and local tax preparation and compliance.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of managerial accounting and financial management experience.
- Experience in a start-up or growth-phase environment strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of government contracting rules and reporting requirements strongly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business required; CPA and/or CMA preferred.
- Experience in manufacturing with job costing and activity-based costing.
- Self-directed with proven time management skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office, QuickBooks, and IT systems in a Windows-based environment.
