Part-Time Endocrinologist Diabetes & Lipid Management
Practice Overview
We are a patient-centered family medicine practice seeking a part-time Endocrinologist to collaborate with our primary care team in managing patients with diabetes and hypercholesterolemia. This role will provide specialized endocrine care within a familiar primary care setting, improving access and continuity for our patients.
Position Summary
The Endocrinologist will evaluate, treat, and follow adult patients with Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, dyslipidemia, and related metabolic conditions. The physician will work closely with family medicine providers to co-manage complex cases and optimize long-term outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and manage Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes
- Provide ongoing care for patients with hypercholesterolemia and lipid disorders
- Develop individualized treatment plans, including lifestyle counseling and medication management
- Interpret laboratory results and adjust therapy accordingly
- Collaborate with primary care providers for coordinated, team-based care
- Educate patients on disease management, prevention, and long-term complications
- Document care in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Follow evidence-based guidelines and best practices
Qualifications
- MD or DO degree
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Endocrinology
- Active medical license (state-specific)
- DEA registration (if applicable)
- Strong interest in outpatient, collaborative care
- Excellent communication and patient education skills
