We are seeking a detail-oriented Banking Accountant to join the Financial Reporting & Banking Unit. This role supports accurate financial reporting and banking operations by reconciling records, resolving outstanding items, and ensuring compliance with established accounting standards and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Process check stop requests, reissues, and death-related notifications
- Respond to internal and external banking inquiries professionally and timely
- Complete weekly and monthly financial transmissions
- Review daily and monthly bank reports and statements via online banking platforms
- Resolve returned check activity and communicate with members as needed
- Track and reconcile daily financial activity using Excel
- Support UAT and other system-related initiatives
Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree with accounting coursework (24 accounting credits preferred)
- 6+ months of accounting or finance experience
- Knowledge of GAAP and basic banking operations preferred
- Strong Excel skills and experience with reconciliations and data analysis
- Excellent attention to detail, communication, and problem-solving skills
