Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP)

Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) to provide advanced, compassionate care to newborns across a dynamic and integrated network of Level III and Level IV NICUs. This is your opportunity to make a lasting impact alongside a multidisciplinary team of experts dedicated to family-centered neonatal care.
About the Role
As a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner, you will serve a defined patient population, functioning as an expert clinician, educator, consultant, care coordinator, and advocate. Your care will be delivered under the medical model in collaboration with CCS-paneled neonatologists, following established protocols, laws, and policies.
This full-scope role primarily supports the Level III NICU at Community Regional Medical Center (CRMC) in Fresno, with opportunities to rotate through:
- Valley Children’s Hospital in Madera – the region’s only Level IV NICU
- Saint Agnes Medical Center in Fresno – a Level III NICU
About the NICU Network
Community Regional Medical Center (CRMC) – Level III NICU
- Part of the largest perinatal program in the Central Valley
- Supports more than 2,300 infant admissions and 24,000 patient days annually
- Nurse staffing ratios: 1:1 or 2:1 for intensive care, 1:3 for intermediate care
- Access to pediatric and surgical subspecialists
Valley Children’s Hospital – Level IV NICU
- The only Regional Level IV NICU in Central California
- Care for 1,400+ critically ill and premature newborns annually
- 25,000 patient days/year across the NICU network
- Offers a comprehensive team including neonatologists, therapists, social workers, dietitians, and more
- Supports satellite Level II and III NICUs in Fresno, Merced and Hanford
What We’re Looking For
Experience
- 5+ years as an RN or NNP in a NICU setting preferred
- New graduate NNPs encouraged to apply
- Strong clinical knowledge in assessment, differential diagnosis, pathophysiology, and pediatric management preferred
- Bilingual abilities are a plus
- Must complete credentialing at CRMC, Saint Agnes, and Valley Children’s Hospital
Education & Certifications
- Master’s Degree in Nursing (required)
- Graduate of an accredited Neonatal Nurse Practitioner program (required)
- Active California RN and NP licensure (required)
- BLS certification (within 30 days of hire)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification (required)
- National NP certification (e.g., NCC) within 6 months of hire
Schedule, Location & Pay
- 24-hour coverage model – both day and night shifts available
- Rotating coverage across CRMC, Saint Agnes, and Valley Children’s NICU in Madera
- Pay Range: $75.00 - $111.00 - Final compensation will be dependent upon skills and experience
