Position Summary: This position is responsible for ensuring that safeguards are maintained during the receipt, transport, delivery, and serving of meals. This employee ensures that standards, regulations, and requirements are met through recruitment, hiring, training, supervising, and coaching site workers and meal delivery staff.

Territory: Greater Fall River

Principal Accountabilities:

Undertaking actions to secure available staff for meal delivery:

  • Evaluate staffing levels on an ongoing basis.
  • Reports needed staffing levels to the Nutrition Program Director.
  • Interviews candidates for drivers and meal delivery positions
  • Defines and reconfigures delivery routes as needed.
  • Schedules workers; finds substitutes; and re-assigns routes when needed. Ensure that all routes are covered each day.
  • Covers routes when needed and approved by the Nutrition Program Director.

Ensures that meal delivery operates smoothly, safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all regulations and standards:

  • Provides orientation, training, and ongoing development to all Nutrition Program Meal Workers.
  • Evaluates employee job performance and institutes quality improvement mechanisms as needed.
  • Measures employee adherence to regulations and safety issues.
  • Provides supervisory oversight through on-site observation, documentation review, and quality assurance outcomes.
  • Plans and conducts quarterly staff meetings with Greater Attleboro and Greater Taunton Nutrition Program Meal Service Manager.
  • Conducts monitoring visits, in-services, and trainings a minimum of two times per year with partner organizations.
  • Develops and maintains positive relationships with partner organizations.
  • Verifies cleanliness, appropriate use, condition, and number of cooler bags assigned to each Meal Delivery Worker.
  • Promotes teamwork, engages team building, and fosters good morale.

Ensures distribution and meal sites operate smoothly, safely, efficiently, and in conformance with all regulations and standards:

  • Provides orientation, training, and ongoing development of all Nutrition meal site staff. Meets regularly with site staff to review policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Ensure that follow up to corrective actions required by site visits, audits, and other compliance reviews are completed.
  • Arrange training sessions to comply with identified needs.
  • Monitors and tracks that site workers receive and maintain required certification. Observes work processes and adherence to standards.
  • Inspects and inventories equipment.
  • Verifies cleanliness, appropriate use, and condition of heating/cooling devices, and requests replacement/addition of equipment as needed.
  • Provides coverage for meal sites when needed and approved by the Nutrition Program Director.

Supports Nutrition office staff by performing a variety of tasks/ duties:

  • Responds to call about consumers not home for meal delivery, follows established protocol for follow up.
  • Documents of all activities, with regards to suspension and cancellations in a timely manner.
  • Document all action taken in the consumer record.

Qualifications:

Education: High school diploma.

Experience: Minimum of two years’ supervisory experience. Supervision of paraprofessional or volunteer workforce is desirable.

  • Excellent oral and written communications skills;
  • ability to effectively relate to a wide variety of personalities;
  • basic computer skills;
  • good organizational, time management, and analytical skills;
  • ability to multi-task quickly and effectively in a fast-paced, high volume work environment;
  • demonstrated leadership ability.
  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds.
  • Driver’s license and reliable transportation required.

Schedule: Monday to Friday 7:30a to 3:30p
