Job Description

We're looking for an experienced Electrical Estimator with deep knowledge of the Washington D.C. market—specifically within the federal sector. This is a great opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is detail-oriented, and wants to make an impact across a wide range of government and infrastructure projects.

About the Role:
You'll play a key part in our Estimating team—owning the full scope of proposal development, analyzing project specifications, coordinating with vendors/subcontractors, and delivering accurate cost projections. You'll also collaborate with internal stakeholders and leadership to ensure every estimate is both competitive and profitable.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates and quantity takeoffs based on specs and drawings

  • Lead the vendor/subcontractor RFP process and qualify proposals

  • Create and review bid packages, identify risks, and propose solutions

  • Collaborate with technical teams, writers, and project managers to ensure timely, high-quality proposals

  • Present bid strategies and analysis to senior leadership

  • Perform digital takeoffs (Accubid Anywhere preferred)

  • Support LEED compliance efforts and federal project standards

  • Continuously explore and identify new project opportunities

What We're Looking For:

  • 3–5 years of experience in electrical estimating (federal sector strongly preferred)

  • Proven experience bidding on projects from $100K–$5M

  • Working knowledge of the Washington D.C. construction market

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent work experience)

  • Experience using Bluebeam, Accubid Anywhere, and Microsoft Office

  • Strong analytical, math, and report-writing skills

  • Excellent attention to detail and deadline management

  • Ability to obtain government clearance (active clearance a plus)

Bonus Points For:

  • CPE or PMP certification

  • Previous cleared project experience

  • Federal design/build or retrofit experience

Why Join?
You'll be part of a forward-thinking estimating team working on high-impact federal projects. Our client offers competitive pay, opportunities for advancement, and the chance to work on projects that matter.
