Salary Range: $69,000 - $108,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and optimize new and existing tooling, dies, jigs, and fixtures for manufacturing processes.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for tooling-related issues and failures.
  • Manage the maintenance, repair, and calibration of all production tooling to ensure operational readiness.
  • Collaborate with R&D, production, and quality teams to ensure tooling meets product specifications and manufacturing requirements.
  • Select appropriate materials and manufacturing methods for tooling construction, considering cost, durability, and performance.
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules and procedures for tooling assets.
  • Evaluate and integrate new tooling technologies and processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in tooling design, manufacturing, or maintenance in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Mastercam) for tool design and analysis.
  • Strong understanding of various manufacturing processes such as injection molding, stamping, or machining.
  • Knowledge of GD&T principles and their application in tooling design and inspection.
  • Experience with tool material selection, heat treatment, and surface finishing processes.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with Additive Manufacturing/3D Printing for tooling applications.
  • Proficiency in advanced simulation software (e.g., FEA, mold flow analysis).
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification or demonstrated experience in continuous improvement related to tooling.
  • Familiarity with automation and robotics integration in tooling operations.
