Job DescriptionVORTEQ Coil Finishers is looking for quality candidates to join our fast-growing team as a Material Handler- Slitter Dept. If you are hardworking, self-motivated, and dependable, apply with us today - We would like to meet you!Job OverviewOperate all equipment safely and efficiently - following successful completion of safety and training programs. Maintain inventory accurately by identifying, labeling, and placing materials and supplies in stock, recording location of inventory. Locate materials and supplies by pulling and verifying materials and supplies listed on production orders while completing necessary paperwork and data entry.ScheduleMonday - Saturday 5:00am - 2:00pmDuties & ResponsibilitiesPerform all duties to the safety standards established as they relate to the positionQualified to operate all material handling equipment efficiently as determined by successful completion of training programPerform daily maintenance checks of assigned equipment and operates in a manner that minimizes maintenance costsStock, remove and transport materials to and from storage in all departments (raw materials, finished products, cartons, etc...) in a manner that minimizes material damage and lossIdentify specific finished products, raw materials, etc...and maintain plant storage areas according to material location requirementsBe aware of and employ proper stacking techniquesLoad and unload trucks, completing all necessary paperwork and data entry, and transport material to proper storage areasAccurately verify inventory tags, labels, product count, correct item number, etcComply with all safety rules and guidelinesQualificationsAbility to stand or walk for extended periods of time; ability to bend and lift heavy materials up to & over 50lbsFunction successfully in a high-paced and at times stressful environmentContribute to team efforts by communicating and working well with othersExcellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlinesWillingness to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekendsAbility to pass company training - required Must have VALID driver's license and RELIABLE transportationForklift experience required, preferred to be sit-down forklift experienceWORK ENVIRONMENTThe work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
