  • BLS
  • RN South Carolina License or recognized NCSBN Compact State License
  • ACLS (only for Pain Management Clinic positions)
  • NRP (required within 6 months for WIC service RNs)
    Job Details
  • Provide nursing care for patients following established standards and practices in accordance with the South Carolina Nurse Practice Act.
  • Apply professional nursing theory and practice to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care.
  • Knowledge of professional nursing theory and practice to give and evaluate patient care.
  • Knowledge of organizational policies and procedures to administer patient care.
  • Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment.
  • Skill in applying and modifying principles, methods and techniques of professional nursing to provide ongoing patient care.
  • Skill in identifying problems and recommending solutions.
  • Skill in preparing and maintaining records and writing reports.
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, hospital, medical staff and the public.
  • Ability to analyze situations and apply critical thinking.
  • Ability to communicate clearly.
  • Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, crouching, stooping.
  • Frequent lifting/moving patients and intermittent lifting, moving or carrying, pushing or pulling up to 50 lbs.
  • Frequent use of finger/hand dexterity and constant reaching with hands/arms.
  • Frequent talking or hearing; corrected hearing and vision to normal range.
  • Exposure to blood, body fluids or tissue; possible exposure to infectious materials, communicable diseases and/or other conditions common to a healthcare environment.
  • Intermittent exposure to risk of exposure to blood-borne pathogens.
  • Moderate noise level in work area.
  • Requires work under stressful conditions, deadlines, or irregular hours.
  • May be required to take call and/or work weekends/holidays based on department needs.
    Job Requirements
  • BSN preferred or required within five (5) years of hire date for positions providing direct patient care with nursing assessment requirement.
  • Current RN license in South Carolina or current compact/multi-state license in a recognized NCSBN Compact State (not a permanent resident of SC).
  • Current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider Card required.
  • ACLS required for positions located in the Pain Management Clinic.
  • All WIC service RNs required to attain NRP certification within 6 months of hire and maintain current certification.
  • Graduate of an accredited school or college of nursing required.
    Schedule Information
  • May be required to take call and/or work weekends/holidays based on department needs.
