Job Description\n
American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist with at least 1 year of experience and active BLS and AK license for an acute care hospital position with floating between care settings.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
- Work in a critical access hospital with Level IV trauma designation serving all ages and diagnoses
- Coverage includes acute care, outpatient, and skilled nursing facility patients
- Department treats a variety of specialty cases including wound care, lymphedema, pelvic floor, pediatric, and more
- Shift is 5x8 hour day shifts, typically 8:30am to 5:00pm, with weekend coverage required
- Floating between units and to other facilities within the state is expected
- Epic EMR is used and experience with Epic is required
- Primary duties include patient evaluation and treatment across acute care, outpatient, and SNF settings
- First-time travelers are accepted for this assignment
- Housing and a vehicle are provided for the duration of the contract, with specific guidelines for use and cleaning
- All travelers are expected to float to other facilities within the state as needed
- Pets are not allowed in housing, and approval is required for additional family members
- Scrub or business casual attire is acceptable
- All requested time off must be disclosed prior to contract; late requests may be denied
- Vehicles must remain within a 30-mile radius of the facility and are for the traveler’s sole use
- Supportive team environment with multidisciplinary collaboration

- Active Alaska PT license required (license required if applicable)
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of recent physical therapy experience in acute care or similar settings
- Must provide two supervisory references covering at least one year of employment in a comparable specialty or setting
- SSN, date of birth, driver’s license, and COVID/Flu documentation required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Must provide a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance for facility-provided vehicle use
- Candidates must have a permanent address at least 50 miles from the facility
- Returning staff must have at least a 3 month break in service before being eligible to return as travelers
