Summary

HZ United, LLC is looking for Civil Engineers to join our team. HZ United is a consulting engineering firm specialized in water resources, transportation, traffic, and environmental sciences. Since 2005 we have provided successful solutions to our clients on public infrastructure development, improvement, and rehabilitation projects. We will consider applicants for the roles of Graduate Engineer, Project Engineer, and Senior Project Engineer.

Senior Project Engineer

Possible duties may include:

  • Manage project scope and schedule from concept to final design
  • Prepare engineering drawings, specifications, and other documents for public infrastructure projects
  • Perform engineering calculations, analyses, and reports
  • Review design packages and address client’s comments with accuracy and timeliness
  • Coordinate with clients and other consulting teams to resolve design issues
  • Marketing and business development

Required Qualifications/Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited post-secondary institution
  • Professional Engineer (PE) registration in Minnesota, or the ability to acquire a license within six months
  • Ability to learn and adapt quickly
  • Efficiently works well as a team member and individually
  • Excellent verbal, written, and analytical skills
  • Display leadership, organization, and time management skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Four or more years of experience working on MnDOT or similar projects
  • Knowledge of water resources or traffic engineering
  • Experience with Microstation/GeoPAK and/or AutoCAD
  • Experience or training in ArcGIS

Graduate or Project Engineer

  • Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam in Minnesota, or the ability to acquire a license within six months

  • Excellent verbal, written, and analytical skills
  • Display leadership, organization, and time management skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Project Engineer: Two or more years of experience working on MnDOT or similar projects
  • Knowledge of water resources or traffic engineering
  • Experience with Microstation/GeoPAK and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Experience or training in ArcGIS
  • Experience with traffic engineering software
  • Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software
