Fleet Maintenance Manager
We are partnering with a rapidly growing logistics company to hire a Fleet Maintenance Manager. This organization has a strong footprint across the east coast and is scaling into new markets.
Role Overview
The Fleet Maintenance Manager will oversee fleet operations and maintenance across one or more sites, ensuring safe, timely, and efficient repair of trucks, containers, and other heavy-duty equipment. This leader will manage a team of technicians, set schedules, and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct, coach, and develop maintenance technicians and leads across shop operations.
- Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance for a large diesel and alternative-fuel fleet.
- Manage vendor relationships and ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory standards.
- Monitor shop performance, control costs, and report on operational efficiency.
- Conduct root cause analysis on breakdowns and road calls to drive improvements.
- Lead quality control inspections and ensure accurate recordkeeping in maintenance systems.
- Partner with leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of fleet maintenance management experience in transportation, logistics, or similar industries
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, brakes, electrical systems, and preventive maintenance practices.
- Proven leadership skills with experience managing multi-shift or multi-site teams.
- Knowledge of OSHA and DOT compliance standards.
- Strong analytical and financial acumen; able to manage budgets and cost controls.
- ASE Certifications preferred (T2–T8).
- Technical school graduate a plus.
