Job DescriptionMaterials Planner – Contract-to-Hire – East Indianapolis

LHH is currently recruiting for a Materials Planner to join a dynamic team on the east side of Indianapolis. This is a fully onsite, contract-to-hire opportunity offering a competitive starting salary of $60,000–$63,000, with an increase to $65,000 upon hire.

About the Role

As a Materials Planner, you’ll be part of a collaborative team of planners supporting a global distribution operation. This organization specializes in sourcing and distributing raw materials to clients worldwide. The role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment and enjoys solving complex supply chain challenges.

Key Responsibilities

• Utilize ERP and MRP systems to plan and manage purchasing activities across multiple warehouse locations.

• Monitor and manage inventory levels to avoid overstocking while ensuring supply continuity.

• Analyze lead times and adjust purchasing strategies for materials with long procurement cycles.

• Run reports and analyze data using tools like Power BI and Excel to support decision-making.

• Collaborate with internal teams to adjust costs and selling prices in response to market volatility, including tariff impacts.

• Maintain accurate records and documentation using SharePoint and other internal systems.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience in materials planning, purchasing, or supply chain management.

• Experience with raw materials preferred, especially in a specialty distribution setting.

• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills; ability to make data-driven decisions.

• Comfortable working in a non-routine, dynamic environment with frequent changes.

• Proficiency in ERP systems, Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and SharePoint.

• Ability to manage a large portfolio of items (3,000+ SKUs) with attention to detail.



Pay Details: $60,000.00 to $65,000.00 per year
