A travel pharmacist opportunity is available for dedicated licensed professionals with inpatient experience. This role supports hospital pharmacy operations in the San Luis Obispo, CA area with two distinct shift options covering both days and nights.
Location:
- San Luis Obispo, CA
Schedule:
- Pharmacist 1: Days, 4 ten-hour shifts per week (7:00 AM 5:30 PM)
- Pharmacist 2: Nights, 7-on/7-off schedule (9:00 PM 7:30 AM)
Contract Details:
- Immediate start preferred
- Duration: 13+ weeks
Responsibilities include:
- Order verification ensuring accuracy and safety of medication dispensing
- Supervising pharmacy technicians to maintain efficient workflow
- Consulting with physicians and nursing staff on medication therapies and patient care
- Managing pharmacokinetics and medication monitoring
- Utilizing clinical platforms such as Cerner and Omnicell effectively
Qualifications:
- Active California pharmacist license
- Minimum 1 year of recent inpatient hospital pharmacy experience
- Strong communication skills for interdisciplinary collaboration
- Proficiency in hospital pharmacy IT systems (Cerner, Omnicell) is preferred
