Position Summary:

A leading hospital in San Antonio’s medical district is seeking a Director of Nursing to oversee its Labor & Delivery department. This role is ideal for a results-driven L&D nurse leader ready to step into a senior leadership position with full accountability over patient care operations, clinical staff, and resource planning. The facility is known for innovation in women's health, surgical programs, and advanced clinical services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead day-to-day operations for a 40–50 bed Labor & Delivery unit
  • Directly supervise and support a team of over 140 staff members
  • Serve as a key liaison between the clinical team, physicians, and hospital leadership
  • Plan and implement process improvements that elevate patient outcomes and staff engagement
  • Foster a culture of accountability, mentorship, and professional development
  • Collaborate closely with senior hospital executives and participate in organizational initiatives

Required Qualifications:

  • BSN required, master’s in nursing or related field preferred
  • Active RN license in Texas (or compact license with eligibility for TX)
  • Minimum 5 years of L&D experience in an acute care hospital
  • Minimum 2 years of leadership experience in an L&D setting
  • Strong background in coaching, staff development, and operational management
  • Demonstrated success in improving patient satisfaction and employee engagement

Compensation & Incentives:

  • Base salary: $130,000 – $140,000
  • Sign-on bonus: Up to $10,000
  • Relocation assistance: Case-by-case basis
