This full-time Sign Language Interpreter and Teacher position supports K-12 students who are deaf or hard of hearing in a vibrant school setting located in Marietta, GA. The role offers a contract for the current school year (CSY) as well as the next school year (NSY), providing stability and continuity in delivering quality education and communication access.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide fluent American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation for classroom instruction and school activities
- Deliver tailored instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing to support their educational development
- Collaborate with educators, families, and support staff to facilitate inclusive learning environments
- Monitor student progress and adjust communication strategies as needed
- Ensure compliance with relevant education and accessibility standards
- Provide consultation and training to staff on deaf education and communication techniques
Qualifications:
- Certification as a Sign Language Interpreter or Teacher in ASL
- Demonstrated fluency in American Sign Language
- Experience working with K-12 students who are deaf or hard of hearing is highly desirable
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative school environment
Work Schedule and Location:
- Full-time position, 6 hours per day
- Contract during both current and next school years (CSY & NSY)
- Located in Marietta, GA
