Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PACU position requiring multi-specialty surgical recovery experience including pediatrics, with a Monday–Friday day schedule and call responsibilities.
Details
- Hospital PACU setting
- Recovers patients across a wide range of surgical specialties including ortho, neuro, general, urology, dental (adult and peds), GYN, and peds ENT (T&A, BMT, etc.)
- Pediatric and adult patient population
- Experience monitoring patients with nerve blocks, chest tube insertions, central lines, intubation, and A-lines
- Cross-coverage in Pre-Op required
- Monday–Friday schedule, day shift (5x8 hours, 9:00–17:30)
- Call required
Requirements
- Active TX RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Minimum 2 years of PACU or surgical recovery experience (all surgical specialties except cardiac)
- Pediatric recovery experience required
- Critical care experience strongly preferred
- Level II trauma experience preferred
- 2 supervisory references from within the last 3 years required for consideration
Additional Information
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
- The facility conducts its own drug screen upon arrival, which includes marijuana — a positive result results in automatic cancellation with no exceptions; candidates should avoid all products that could cause a positive result (including CBD) prior to and upon arrival
- Candidates should be prepared to assist with Pre-Op coverage as needed
