Position Overview

A hospital in Central Florida is seeking a skilled Medical Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse (MICU RN) to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care to critically ill patients. This role requires strong clinical judgment, experience with high-acuity patients, and the ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary critical care team.

Available Shifts

  • Day Shift – Rotating weekends

  • Night Shift – Rotating weekends

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and deliver comprehensive nursing care to critically ill MICU patients

  • Perform ongoing assessments and implement individualized care plans

  • Carry out physician-ordered procedures, treatments, and monitoring

  • Administer medications and document care accurately in the electronic medical record

  • Educate patients and families on medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care

  • Translate complex medical information into understandable terms for patients and caregivers

  • Support evidence-based practice initiatives and continuous quality improvement efforts

  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes

  • Advocate for patients and families while promoting safety and compassionate care

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of recent Acute Care RN experience (within the past 3 years)

    • Higher-acuity experience preferred; strong Med/Surg candidates considered

  • Active Florida RN license or approved multistate compact RN license

    • Compact license holders must obtain Florida licensure within 60 days of relocation

  • BLS (AHA) certification required

  • ACLS certification required

  • Associate Degree in Nursing required
