General Summary:
The BSA Coordinator supports and develops expertise in the bank’s BSA compliance program to ensure each functional area achieves and maintains BSA compliance safeguards and safety and soundness requirements. The BSA Coordinator performs day-to-day BSA/AML/OFAC compliance duties, including transaction monitoring and regulatory reporting, under the direction of the BSA Officer and BSA Analysts. This role also assists with quality control activities, prepares documentation for audits and exams, and actively cross-trains on advanced compliance functions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Primary:
- BSA/AML/OFAC Program Coordinator
- Review Currency Transaction Report (CTR) activity from the BSA/AML Software and system reports, and complete and file the necessary reports as required by federal regulation, following bank policy and procedure.
- Maintain Monetary Instrument Report (MIR) records.
- Perform OFAC reviews and provide clearance.
- Monitor wires for unusual activity related to purpose or source of funds.
- Manage and respond to BSA Help Desk tickets.
- Manage user access to the BSA/AML Software.
- Compliance Operations
- Assist the department with ongoing monitoring of IRS Name/TIN mismatches.
- Review areas within the bank’s internal compliance program to provide assurance that the bank achieves and maintains compliance safeguards and safety and soundness requirements.
- Assist the department in preparation of examination/audit packages for outside examiners and external auditors.
- Training
- Participate in necessary meetings and training of the BSA department.
- Assist with teller-related BSA training and coordinate with Operations on procedures.
- BSA/AML/OFAC Program
- Assist the department with ongoing monitoring of OFAC compliance.
- Assist the department with ongoing monitoring of CIP, CDD/EDD, and unusual activity.
Other Duties:
- Adherence to and support of all compliance and BSA/AML rules and regulations related to this job function.
- Performs other duties as assigned by President & CEO.
Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED) with 2 years of banking or related experience.
- Trained in Federal and State regulatory requirements including knowledge of internal operational controls.
Preferred Skills:
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-intensity environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
- Possess general knowledge of the bank’s loan and deposit programs and loan and deposit documentation.
- Possess a strong desire to help the bank succeed in its regulatory reviews.
- Maintain a high level of company and customer confidentiality.
- Maintain a professional appearance and manner.
- Possess excellent telephone, human relations, communication, and organizational skills.
- Two years of experience operating a personal computer including Microsoft Word and Excel software, ten-key number pad, printer, fax machine, and copier.
Scheduling:
Work schedule will vary depending upon demand but will consist of an 8-hour shift between the hours of 7:30 AM – 6:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Occasional overtime may be required. Regular attendance is required.
