Summary

The Administrative Shop Foreman will create estimates and review them for accuracy, specifically identifying access issues, overlaps, and contingent damage time that must be incorporated and assessed for completeness and precision. The ASF also accountable for communicating and documenting all matters on the shop floor.

Essential Duties:

  • Maintains constant and accurate communications with Service Writers and the Uptime Supervisor.
  • Assists the Uptime Supervisor whenever necessary to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction.
  • Minimizes customer wait time on new truck arrivals.
  • Works closely with the Uptime Supervisor during the quality control process of all repairs to minimize reworks, comebacks, and customer dissatisfaction with Nextran products and/or services.
  • Challenges technicians with assigned work.
  • Directly supervises Technician Trainees.
  • Provides technical support to technicians and management.
  • Follows Customer Contact and Communication Policy.
  • Follows all Nextran policies and procedures, including “Nextran’s Pledge to Customers.”
  • Final repair order review includes:
    • Repair stories
    • Adjust repair times as needed.
    • Operations toggled correctly, Warranty vs Customer pay
    • Warranty Documentation eService Case#, CBR #, Fault codes attached
    • Warranty parts & Cores are turned in
    • Ensure Sublet Invoices are attached to the ASIST case
    • Final Invoice matches the estimate
  • Provide backup to advisors when needed.
  • Other duties may be assigned at any time based on departmental needs.

Qualifications: The qualifications listed below are representative of preferred knowledge, skills, and/or abilities. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in the heavy-duty truck industry managing/supervising Class 6, 7, and/or 8 trucks.
  • A valid CDL license is a plus.
  • Ability to drive and climb into heavy-duty trucks; ability to squat, bend over, and lift components while performing truck repair
  • Strong interpersonal and verbal skills in order to communicate with customers, technicians, shop foreman, service writers, and vendors in a professional manner.
  • Computer proficiency
  • Experience with MV Assist and/or Karmak Info5 software is a plus
  • College degree is a plus.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve problems and deal with various variables in situations with only limited resources. Ability to interpret multiple instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

  • The employee must stand and sit for extended periods (8 hours) while making repairs.
  • Entry or exit from the vehicle's cab.
  • Must regularly be capable of lifting, pulling, pushing, and moving up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
