Hybrid Accounting opportunity in the West Hartford area! This role is ideal for a detail-oriented individual with a strong background in financial reporting, account reconciliation, and compliance with GAAP standards. As part of the accounting team, you will play a key role in supporting financial operations, reporting accuracy, and collaboration across departments.
Responsibilities:
• Participate actively in monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, including preparing journal entries and supporting schedules.
• Handle fixed asset processes, including acquisitions and dispositions, for internal book and tax purposes.
• Provide financial support for portfolio companies.
• Perform reconciliations for selected balance sheet and income statement accounts as assigned.
• Ensure all financial reporting related to portfolio companies is accurate, complete, and timely.
• Maintain organized and thorough documentation to support accounting transactions.
• Communicate with external auditors and tax consultants when required.
• Create ad-hoc financial reports and contribute to special projects as needed.
• Take on additional support duties as assigned to assist the accounting team.
• Proficiency in preparing journal entries and maintaining general ledger records.
• Solid knowledge of GAAP accounting principles and standards.
• Experience in financial statement preparation and account reconciliation.
• Familiarity with fixed asset management, including acquisitions and dispositions.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate financial documentation.
• Effective communication skills for collaboration with internal teams and external auditors.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and work within deadlines.
• Advanced proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
