Deliver critical patient care in a dynamic Emergency Department located in Middlebury, VT, serving a diverse patient population ranging from newborns to geriatric individuals. This contract opportunity offers the chance to apply your Emergency Nursing skills in a 10-14 bed Critical Access ED, supported by a dedicated team including RNs, ED techs, charge nurses, and mid-level providers.

Responsibilities:

• Provide acute care using ESI triage scale and perform procedures including IV insertion, drips/infusions, EKGs, and procedural sedation.
• Participate in patient transports, including ambulance transfers, and collaborate with Telemedicine and Telestroke consultations.
• Maintain thorough documentation in Epic and manage medication administration using Pyxis systems.
• Work in shifts scheduled from 7a-7p, 11a-11p, 3p-3a, and 7p-7a, including holiday coverage.
• Support quality patient outcomes in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and escalate cases requiring higher-level care transport.

Desired Experience:

• Minimum two years clinical and specialty-specific Emergency Nursing experience.
• Completion of at least one travel nursing contract preferred.
• Certifications such as ACLS, ENPC or PALS, TNCC, NRP, and NIHSS are highly valued.
• Prior experience in rural or Critical Access Hospital Emergency Departments is advantageous.
• Charge nurse experience preferred; willingness to precept new nurses and participate in transports is essential.
