Certified Dietary Manager CDM Job Duties:

• Developing and implementing menus that meet the nutritional needs of patients/residents while maintaining quality and variety.

• Ordering, receiving, and storing food in compliance with all state and federal regulations.

• Ensuring that food is prepared using safe and sanitary methods.

• Monitoring and organizing kitchen operations, including cleaning and maintenance.

• Managing departmental budgets, analyzing food costs, and modifying menus accordingly to stay within budget.

• Supervising and training staff in proper food handling, preparation, service, and sanitation procedures.

• Maintain accurate meal counts and food cost reports.

• Interacting with patients/residents and families to resolve any issues related to their dietary needs.

• Developing and implementing policies and procedures related to the dietary department based on established standards and guidelines.

CDM Certified Dietary Manager Skills/Abilities:

• Good decision making and judgment capabilities.

• Ability to identify and solve complex problems.

• Great communication and interpersonal skills are a must.

• High comfort level with enteral nutrition, wounds, weight management, Hemodialysis.

• Comfortable working in a healthcare facility.

• Familiarity with state survey process and compliance with nutrition care regulations.

CDM Certified Dietary Manager Qualifications

• Required Successful completion of CDM Credentialing Exam with active certification status

• Preferred Experience in foodservice management

• Provide nutritional care to long-term care residents and sub-acute rehab patients.

• Plan, organize, develop, and direct the nutritional care of the resident in accordance with current federal, state and local standards, guidelines, regulations and established facility/company policies and procedures.

• Be an active member of the interdisciplinary care conferences.

• Represent the Food & Nutrition Department as a liaison with the medical and nursing staff.

• Experience with electronic charting such as Point Click Care PCC is preferred not required
