The Warehouse Assistant plays a crucial role in the efficient operation of the warehouse by loading, unloading, sorting, staging, and transporting products both in and out of the facility. This position operates under the supervision of the Warehouse Manager and adheres to established guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Receive and verify accuracy of incoming shipments.
- Sort and place materials on racks, shelves, or bins according to predetermined sequences such as size, type, color, or product code, and mark materials with identifying information.
- Prepare merchandise for shipment, including packing flooring materials and all required install materials.
- Assist in the production of Floating Floor Systems.
- Communicate any order changes to the Warehouse Manager.
- Support the Warehouse Manager with the delivery of cargo.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallet areas, and workstations neat and complying with procedures, rules, and PPE regulations.
- Attend all training programs and meetings.
Essential Skills
- Forklift operation, including stand-up forklifts.
- Picking and inventory management.
- Material handling and shipping and receiving.
- Pallet jack operation and measuring tools usage.
- Warehouse inventory management.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Highly motivated with a positive attitude and team-oriented mindset.
- Ability to learn and follow basic warehouse principles.
- Efficient operation of a pallet jack and knowledge of material handling equipment.
- Capability to work overtime when needed.
- Positive interpersonal skills and organizational skills.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Reliable transportation.
- Minimum of 1 year of previous warehouse and/or flooring experience.

Work Environment
The work environment is structured, with hours from 8 am to 4:30 pm. Employees are expected to maintain clean and organized workspaces, comply with safety regulations, and use personal protective equipment. The warehouse utilizes various material handling technologies and requires adherence to operational procedures for efficiency and safety.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Smithfield, RI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
