We are seeking a dedicated and hard-working Production Technician to join our team. This role involves performing various harvest activities such as preparation, sorting, drying, packaging, and palletizing, as well as return and rework tasks. You will be responsible for inspecting product bags for quality issues, assessing pallets and boxes for damage, and re-stacking, wrapping, and packing outgoing products. This is a seasonal position estimated to last 6-8 months, with the potential to become a long-term opportunity for employees who demonstrate excellent production and attendance.
Responsibilities
- Conduct preparation, sorting, drying, packaging, and palletizing during harvest activities.
- Perform return and rework activities including inspecting bags for quality issues.
- Assess pallets and boxes for damage and re-stack, wrap, and pack outgoing products.
- Operate machines and manage production line tasks efficiently.
- Participate in cleaning activities such as sweeping, dusting, and washing equipment and harvest boxes.
Essential Skills
- Experience in packaging, production, or farming.
- Ability to work flexible shifts including 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts as assigned.
- Proficiency in shipping and receiving, warehouse operations, and general production tasks.
- Comfortable working indoors or outdoors regardless of weather conditions.
- Willingness to work in various capacities including sorting, drying, machine operation, quality control, bagging/re-bagging, and palletizing.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Forklift operation with training (PIT truck).
- Ability to work with steel or composite-toe shoes.
- Flexibility to adapt to shift structures including 5x8, 4x10, or 3 on/3 off schedules depending on business needs.
Work Environment
This position is fully on-site in Tipton, IN, within multiple non-temperature controlled warehouses and some outdoor work. The work is physically demanding and requires wearing PPE such as hard hats, safety vests, work gloves, and hearing protection, all provided at the worksite. Employees must wear steel or composite-toe shoes at all times. During peak season (September through March), flexible shifts and occasional overtime may be required. Shift structures vary during harvest season, with candidates expected to be open to at least 2 shifts (1st/2nd/3rd) and overtime, especially from July to October.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.50 - $20.50/hr.
