Master Scheduler – Industrial Manufacturing (Onsite | Hudson, WI)
up to $90,000 Negotiable for the right candidate
A precision industrial manufacturer in Hudson, WI is seeking a highly skilled Master Scheduler to take ownership of the plant-wide production plan. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-mix machine-shop environment and is excited to bring strong scheduling expertise to a growing organization.
About the Role
As the Master Scheduler, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing the plant’s projected master schedule across 50–60 work centers and 350+ active jobs. You will collaborate closely with Operations, Production, Engineering, Purchasing, and Customer Service to ensure an accurate, efficient, and customer-focused production plan.
Key Responsibilities
- Build, manage, and maintain the master production schedule for all machining, finishing, and subcontracting activities.
- Plan production around material procurement, equipment capacity, routing requirements, and delivery commitments.
- Schedule 50–60 machines/work centers while balancing 350+ simultaneous jobs.
- Use Epicor ERP for scheduling, demand planning, MRP, and production execution.
- Analyze plant capacity, manpower requirements, constraints, and works-in-progress.
- Monitor shop floor performance, on-time starts, load leveling, and capacity planning daily.
- Lead S&OP discussions around production priorities and resource allocation.
- Communicate proactively with Sales and Customer Service regarding order status and delivery timelines.
- Drive manufacturing lead times down to 6–8 weeks.
- Maintain accurate MRP data, work calendars, planning fences, and scheduling workflows.

- Managing a high-volume, highly variable scheduling environment.
- Balancing material availability, machine capacity, workforce constraints, rework, and customer changes.

- Internal ERP-integrated planning workflows
Required Experience
- 5+ years of production scheduling, planning, or inventory management.
- Experience in manufacturing, machining, or a machine shop environment (non-negotiable).
- Hands-on experience with capacity planning, load leveling, and production scheduling.
- Prior use of ERP/MRP systems (Epicor preferred).
- Ability to adjust schedules for rework, equipment downtime, shortages, and last-minute changes.
- Strong communication skills across Operations, Sales, Purchasing, Engineering, and Production.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in gear cutting or high-precision machining.
- Load leveling and capacity planning expertise.
- Material forecasting experience.
- Familiarity with Lean, Kanban, or continuous improvement principles.
- Past experience managing 50–60 work centers.
